Kwagonza Allen is a Worship leader and a Teacher of God’s word and currently serves under the ministry of Divine Restoration Church in Kinaawa-Kyengera town council (overseen by Apostle Betty Kisembo), which is a part of the larger Restoration Ministries of which Apostle Doctor John Bunjo is the overseer. The theme of restoration is very eminent in Allen’s service to God as she is constantly working towards restoring God’s people back to the root of his Word and Plan for their lives. Allen is multi-talented as a gifted Singer, Actor and Teacher, and uses her talents to build the kingdom of God through the Arts (music & drama) and Biblical teaching, while using relevant and practical means that help regular people understand and apply the truth of God’s word in their lives.

Allen’s Background

Allen has lived a life that she believes only God could have fashioned by his mighty hand. Having been orphaned before she was out of her mother’s womb in July 1985, her Grandmother named her “Okwagonza Mukama nukwo akora” translated in English “God does things according to his will”. Indeed according to God’s will, most probably because of the plan and call upon her life, God placed Allen’s upbringing in the hands of her mother who worked as a maid for an elite Christian family, that would later raise her up as their own child and in the fear of the Lord. Allen grew up as part of two families, one where she was her mother’s eldest child followed by a younger brother and another where she was the youngest of seven children (4 boys and 3 girls).

Salvation, Music, Drama and Ministry

Growing up, Allen was always interested in singing and quick to learn a song upon hearing it. She always expressed interest in Christian related activities and she recalls first giving her life to Christ while in Primary six at the age of 10 when a Pentecostal pastor came home to visit. While in Senior 3 at the age of 17, Allen recommitted her life to Christ after watching a Watoto church production, “Heaven’s gates and Hell’s flames”. From about that time, Allen says she stopped regularly singing secular songs, at least until she and her husband David started being asked to sing love songs on weddings. Currently Allen leads worship in Divine Restoration Church and has also gone ahead to produce her first song Album titled “God’s Word Alone-1” produced by Pim Records and Maesta films.

Besides using music as a tool to build God’s kingdom, Allen also uses drama to make known the word of God in practical and relatable ways. Allen also regularly leads Bible study sessions and encourages believers to get a revelation of God through his word in order for it to become alive in their own lives and set them free from all bondage.

In the spirit of restoration, Allen’s life’s Goal has become to “Rebuild true worship” in the church, by working with choirs and teaching them what true worship really is, using the word of God as her basis. Allen coordinates a worship service called “Jesus Enthroned”, through which lives are transformed, restored, healed, mended and assigned to duty in building God’s kingdom.

Personal life

After maintaining a 7 year friendship, Allen and her husband David courted for 7 months and married on 11^th February 2012. After 5 years of struggling with infertility and through the guidance of the Holy Spirit to seek to know God through his word and in obedience to it, the couple welcomed 2 Biological children (Zion and Israel Kusemererwa). Allen and David are also guardians to 2 other children (Kizza and Faith).
