Hebrews 12:1
"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
There is a race set before every child of God and he or she is expected to win this race.
The race may not be the same for everybody, but the expectation of winning is the same for everybody.
What must we do then?
The opening scripture gives us a clue to the answer: We should lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily besets us, and run with patience.
The weight in your life may be laziness, pornography, overeating, ignorance, failing to study the Bible frequently, etc. The sin that easily besets you might be telling lies, stealing, gossiping, fornication, adultery, drunkenness, etc.
It is our duty to identify the sin in our lives; they may not be the same for everyone since we all have different temperaments and weaknesses. Once you have identified these, ask for grace and run with patience, and you will definitely win.
Praise the Lord!
Child of God, have you identified the sin that easily besets you? What must you do to win over this?
